Invitation to the "Three Years To Go Until the Paralympic Games!!! Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Countdown Event"

Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government jointly will be hosting the “Three Years To Go Until the Paralympic Games!!! Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Countdown Event” on Friday 25 August, exactly three years before the launch of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, at Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu, Tokyo.

All attending guests and the general public will be invited to participate in an uchimizu water-sprinkling ceremony to reduce the summer heat

Part I Opening ceremony

Part II Special event

Events featuring Paralympic athletes will be held on stage and will be open to the general public, with some parts being filmed

  • An interactive quiz with the audience
  • A “challenge” segment that aims to draw out exceptional performances from the athletes
  • Talk sessions that focus on the appeal of each sport and the athletes' personalities etc.
